my way of turning alpaca fibre into yarn

CHESTER - the loyal adjutant

I knitted a circular scarf, hated it, cut it down the centre and hemmed with calico, then over-crocheted the edges with a shiny commercial yarn and it has made a very useful knee rug.

then I knitted a scarf for Brian, using a commercial blue yarn to get a denim'y look

then I had a go at felting, using a lot of Chester's fibre along with Ivory's

and I played with twills and rose-path patterns, and also using some Suri fibre, whole locks washed and used entire as the fringe.

Here are our adorable alpacas, move the mouse over each one, if you get a hand then click to see the garments/yarns we have crafted from their fibre.
